The first two projects we did were in Colorado County, Texas (a siliciclastic environment), and in Steubens County, New York (a carbonate environment). The map
shows lightning strike density overlaid by an interpretation of basement conjugate faulting from a residual processing and interpretation of aeromagnetic data.
Note how the highest number of lightning strikes occur at fault intersections. Note on the cross-section how yellow lightning density shows higher frequency trends
following the green aeromagnetic trends. Again, we have only just begun to understand the implications of lightning data as a new geophysical data type.
